The son of our friend, dojo member and fellow Aikidoka, Robert Hegadus had a life changing accident in 2023.
His middle son Matyi (15) had a very serious accident and broke his spine caused by a 5-6 m fall. They were transported to Alder Hey Hospital in Liverpool by the Wales Air Ambulance Service and he had an emergency surgery within 6 hours. The surgery was about 7 hours long and after that he spent 5 months in hospital.
His injury was so serious that he lost movement and feeling in his legs.
Thanks to his positive mind-set and determination his feelings are coming back and he started to lift his knees. He does everything in his power to stand up and walk again.
He is currently using a wheelchair and they are on several NHS waiting lists. (For a light weight wheelchair, NHS physiotherapy, standing frame) However his family would like to take him to private physiotherapy sessions and purchase some important specific equipment to enable his fullest recovery as soon as possible.
According to neuroscientists and physiotherapists, he needs an electric deep muscle stimulator ( FES Denervated Muscle, Complete System Stimulette Edition5 S2x ), therapy pool sessions and at least 6 hours physiotherapy per week.
As a small business, dojo member and Martial Arts community, we are committed to raising funds to help with his recovery, rehabilitation and to support the family.

Obsessed T's's owner Andy McLean is a long time freind of Rob and his family so he is producing the shirts with only material costs being paid while all production costs (including labour) are covered by him.

Heat transfer vinyl (HTV) or iron-on vinyl, is a type of vinyl that can be used to create designs and text on fabrics. HTV contains a heat-activated adhesive backing that transfers heat from an iron or heat press onto the design, causing it to adhere permanently to the fabric. HTV comes in many types including standard finish, metallic, glitter, sparkle, glow inthedark & printable.
Direct-to-Film (DTF) printing, is a process that involves printing a design onto a special film using water-based inks and a powder adhesive, and then transferring the design to fabric using a heat press. The film has a coating that helps transfer designs. DTF printing is durable and produces detailed, vibrant designs that can be replicated with high accuracy on a wide variety of fabrics.
Direct-to-garment (DTG) printing is a method where the ink is sprayed directly onto the garment, which allows for high-quality, full-color prints. DTG prints are soft, breathable, and very durable.
Embroidery is a process that uses an industrial sewing/embroidery machine to stitch the design onto the garment. It is fast and efficient way to produce detailed designs on a variety of fabrics. Machine embroidery is commonly used commercially for product branding, corporate advertising, and uniform adornment.
Dye sublimation printing is a digital printing technology, that allows you to print full color images onto polyester fabric and coated substrates. It’s taking a design printed onto special paper (the solid) and by applying even heat and pressure, it turns to a gas (through an endothermic reaction) and never hits the liquid phase. There’s no ink needing to dry during the transfer process, it’s all an infusion on the molecular level.
